The owners wanted a clean and traditional look for their rental property. This project was a one story home which hadn’t been redone since the early 1980s. An exciting project with few rules, the two-bedroom, one and a half bath, 1544 square foot home had a renovation budget of $35,000. The project actually took place over two summers, as the owners had one month to update the paint before their first renter of a year. The second summer (2019) the owners had 8 weeks to renovate the kitchen and bathrooms before their next tenant. This project transformed a baby blue living room to an all white room with a grey painted fireplace.  

I replaced an all pink bathroom with white and grey marble and removed the 1980s style cabinet and sink and put in a pedestal sink. I had the original cast iron tub replaced with a walk-in white and grey marble shower adding a built-in seat and a hard-mount glass shower wall.

We painted the trim, window frames, and built in cabinets in the dining room black, to pop against the white walls. The hardwood floors were in good condition throughout, and I replaced the bathroom and kitchen floors. Wanting to put in quartz counter top in the kitchen would put the project over budget, so I went with a striated grey and white granite. Replacing the stainless sink with a composite farmhouse sink for durability, the photo shows new cabinet doors had to be cut due to the change in proportion of the sink. To save the client money, I used all existing cabinets and had them sprayed white with new hardware.
